Making a booking
Do you need an after-hours GP in Melbourne? Then you know you have come to the right place. To make a booking with us, all you have to do is call our telephone number and we will do everything we can to book you in at a time that is convenient for you. When you do make an appointment online with our out of hours GP, you will be asked to provide some information about any symptoms that you have, and when we have received this information, we will then provide you with an accurate time for your doctor to arrive. We want to give you the best possible experience when it comes to your healthcare service, and that is why we will always let you know where your doctor is, and how long they should be before they arrive at your home.
It should be noted that if you are having a medical or life-threatening emergency, that you should dial 000 to get some medical assistance. 123HomeDoctor are not able to help you with your emergency needs. If you want to find out if there is an after-hours GP in your area then you should contact our team and they will be able to advise you as to whether or not you can receive our services where you are, or even if we can come to another location to try and assess your needs.
Our Home Doctor Fees
When you request an appointment from our home doctor, you will find that there are absolutely no fees. This is especially the case if you are a DVA Gold card holder or a current Medicare user. We can also offer you bulk billing so you won’t experience any additional expenses. Bulk billing is where the doctor is paid 85% of the fee for the service and 75% of the fee for inpatient services provided by the government through the Medicare card. We deal with bulk billing 100%, so if you are not registered through Medicare or even if you are not registered with the Veteran Affairs program then you will need to make your payment either by MasterCard or even by Visa before you go in for your consultation.
Our Time Limits
Our after-hours doctor in Melbourne is usually provided when your GP is closed. We can get a doctor out to your location between the hours of 6pm and 8pm and over the weekend/during public holidays. When you do use our service, we will document everything possible as well as providing you with the information you need to tell your regular doctor. This helps to ensure a very high level of communication, while also making sure that your medical record displays any findings by our own doctors.
Please note that if you do believe that your illness is life threatening or if you would like some urgent medical attention then you should call your emergency service on 000 where you can get the attention you need. Our service is not designed to treat any medical emergency.
Our Doctors & Your Location
Our service is designed to be used by those who are in a crisis, or in need of some medical advice. If you are visiting the city and you are staying in a local hotel then you can feel more than happy to use our service. Our services are not just limited to your home, and we can visit you anywhere in any location where an urgent visit may be required. We don’t encourage self-diagnosis by any means, but if you do require some non-medical emergency help and support then all you have to do is call our trained professionals and they will do everything they can to help you with your problem.
How Do I Know Which Doctor I Have?
A lot of our doctors have very extensive experience in the emergency department and this alone helps to give them an understanding of the unique cases that they may face. All of the doctors who work with us have certifications from the Medical Board in Australia and we always make sure that their own level of customer service is completely on-point as well. If you want to book in with our doctor then we ask for some understanding about your schedule. It may take up to 2 hours to be seen by one of our doctors and this is because we put our more urgent patient problems first. This includes problems with children and the elderly, which we do ask for your understanding about.
If you want to find out more about our medical services then please do get in touch with us today. We would be more than happy to talk with you and we can’t wait to show you why we are the best at what we do.
